Actions This lady has arrived in the park and wants to sunbathe but is unprepared for it. So she adopts a bandanna for her top and since her panties have color in them they substitute for a bikini (1). Commentary Credit for this observation goes to a female correspondent who insists these briefs are underwear, not a bikini. Her argument is supported by the ad hoc bandeau. It may be a fact the briefs are indeed a bikini, and not underwear, but because the issue involves signaling, the interpretation of the message contributes to the "facts."
