   Three bathers occupy the cold-water bath, the "frigidaria," of the Faustina baths (1).

Commentary
   Swimming pools existed in Roman times, over 2500 years ago. Sometimes the pools were sex-segregated, sometimes not. Sometimes people swam nude, sometimes not. Some of the baths are heated, some not.
