Ms. Confident Polka-dot Postcard Pinup

Pool, Germany
c. 1962 IP6E12

Costume
Black and red polka-dot double-tied soft-top strapped halter and nombril.

   TML. N-4.

Actions
This postcard pinup arches her back, thrusts bosoms forward and postulated the viewer with a skilled look (1). Her swirled, beehive up-do, rendered in Genuine Dynel adds to the trashy look. She either has very natural Body-Snatcher blue eyes, or the airbrush touch, but these are eyes that can dominate.

Commentary
Polka dots have been a popular swimsuit theme since The Polka Dot Girl emerged in 1943, but the "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" million-selling novelty pop song by Brian Hyland accelerates polka dot bikinis into the popular culture. This bikini is red, not yellow, but the idea is the same.
The narrowed halter straps are aggressive for the period and definitely advanced from a more bulky halter silhouettes of the 1950s; foundation is also thinned. The bulky culotte is typical, and the lowering waistline competitive.
