Olive-Ann Alcorn A Sting of Pearls

Chatiau Art Studios, Los Angeles
c. 1914 OA1410

Costume
Pearl rigid string halter and open slit dress over pearled brief. Bracelets, anklets fastened to the toes, earrings, hat.

   TML. Bellage.

Actions
Olive-Ann stands sideways and pulls her dress aside so we can see her legs (1).

Commentary
Morgan and Lacy state Alcorn is "a Mack Sennett beauty who probably had an oyster bed working overtime to produce her costume."
This string halter predates the string bikini by almost 50 years. String straps are also found on bras throughout the teens (AP1710).
